go to your local "trusted" Exhaust shop and they can do it if you have the money just buy the 2 Turbo N-1 mufflers and have them make up the pipeing pow there you go like the picture above.

thanks ...also..what would be a good back bumper kit for em? i know alot of the kits have only room for one...so anyone know any good ones? i lke the one above..but u can't just buy the rear bumper peice.

Did you know that 2x the mufflers make your car 2x as fast? Just look at the car in the picture. Is that a fully functional cheese grater I see on the side? Now that's what I call utility!

WEll, while we are at it, what are the pros/cons of a dual exhaust setup? How does it affect backpressure? Can a 4 cylinder engine even handle it? My gut feeling says for our cars, it's probably not worth the hassle....

As for back bumpers that can fit the dual exhaust look, I beleve the Bomex one does have the spacing for that.

On a side note a friend of mine custom made his own dual exhaust systtem. (custom y-pipng, cat, etc. He welds professionally, worked on a lot of combat vehicles while we were in the service) We didn't "notice" any negative loss in performance. He thinks it's faster (you know how butt dynos work :) ), but I think it's basically the same as before. The engine is a V6. I'm still trying to get him to take it to a dyno so we can really see what's going on. I will say this much, it sounds WICKED, like nothing you have heard before. I'll have to figure out how to transfer some of my 8mm video to mpeg or something because I'm not sure how to describe it. Here is a small picture I took while we were cruising just before the snow hit:

If you have high bandwith, the fullsize is here

Well if you had a turbo car. You could go 3inch from the turbo back to possibly a little after where the test pipe would be. Then you could get one of those Y splitters that have a 3inch inlet and dual 2 1/2 inch outlets. It would probably work fine performance wise. Only downfall being the extra weight.

I wonder what something like that would sound like? I don't wanna know

there is this guy around my area driving a kinda gold/yellow eclipse. he has a dual exhaust system. it looks pretty nice and from the looks he has spent a good amount of money for the appearance. he is a turbo car venting to the atmosphere. i could hear i was passing him one day. so i don't know if it would help or not.

I'm not one to talk crap...often...but shouldn't this be in the newbie section? I like helping people, but I think this is the wrong forum to post it in....since this is the performance section, and this is obviously a cosmetic modification.

But, to answer your question, your local muffler shop should be able to set you up with a dual set up.

Technically exhaust modification is performance. Whether this particular one is worth doing however, is totally up for debate ;)

Definitely the extra weight, and lack of proven performance gains would keep most diehard tuners away.

Mainly I would be interestred in hearing it.

well the response..seems to be well..divided..i want my car to be fast no doubt..but i also want it to look tight...and i like how it looks and sounds..and the extra wieght..iss really somthin i'm not worried about cause i do have 2 L7's and a pretty heavy sounds system...i was just wonderin how it'd work. and ur right..i'm not TOTALLY about performance..but i did wana know if it would help or not...and knowing how it seems not to hurt except for the wieght factor..well..i think i'm gonna get em....plus its my car

i honestly wouldn't do it. IMO, it's totally pointless for 4 cyl. cars. if you are looking to enhance performance, the no...big NO. but if are a show kinda guy, then it wouldn't hurt I guess. tha'ts just me so......once again, you gotta do what you feel is best for you. However most of us wouldn't suggest it.

The sh*tbox in the picture at the top of the page with the "Stupid Street" plate. And we wonder why we get no respect from the V8 crowd. That car, and others like it, are *exactly* the reason why I hate to associated with the word "Imports." Those type of fools have undone years of progress that we have made in gaining the respect of the broader performance community. F*cking ricers.

why is it when somebody wants to do something different he's automatically called a "ricer"? Not everybody wants to be a "sleeper"

Why should it bother you soooo much about what he does with his money? Its obvious by Gstspyder02's previous posts he is more interested in how his car looks, rather than extreme performance. He asked for help from the DSM community not to be ridiculed cause you're concerned about what the V-8 guys think! Does it really matter what he does?, how will his car affect yours? I'd have to say not at all ( dude he lives in mobile, Alabama) If the backlash of him changing his mufflers reaches all the way to the west coast, and gives us less respect from our local v-8 communities' Ill Sell my car.

I swear i've been seeing these rice posts, and have observed much "anti-riceism" what's the difference cookie-cutter honda's or cookie cutter dsm's. If he wants to be different let his it's his perogative.

I remember when Import drag racing took a second seat to Lawn mower racing.

Personally I like it, but wouldn't do it, however if you try to put four mufflers on there i'll change my mind cause that is just plain tacky, and deserving of the label "RICE"

Mike, DSM community members like yourself make me want to go back to driving Honda's!

Personally, I'm not saying it's ricey, or whatever. I'm just telling him straight up that if he's in it for performance, then it will hurt the car more than help, but if he's in just for show purposes then that's fine.

Who cares what other people label your car as. I love my car and I could care less what negative thoughts others have towards it. I have put about 7 gs in the body and interior of my car and less then a grand in the engine. My car looks awsome and the only people that seem to have #### to say about it is not the import, domestic or muscle car drivers but the DSM drivers who thing the cars are only made to go fast and not look sweet in the process. I always have avoided the import domestic debates cause I like both cars but now the DSM crowd has to debate over having a nice lookin car

If you want to do then do it. No more pointless debate on this.
