Alright I have a 6 bolt motor with around 3000 miles on it and I did a compression test that came out around 170 in each cylinder but when I remove my number 4 cylinder plug it is soaked with oil. All the other plugs are fine but I cant seem to figure out what the problem is.

Clarify if there is oil on the tip of the plug or just on the outside. If on the outside, it could be simply a valve cover gasket job. If there is oil on the inside, you could have a whole bunch of problems including that cylinder not detonating.

I didnt do a leak down test yet but before i did the compression test i cleaned off the plug and fired up the car....the car smoked and burned off all the oil in the cylinder I checked the cyclinder and there was no oil when i did the compression test. The oil only comes back after a few hard pulls. When i do a pull it at like 5 grand the car stops pulling hard and it sounds like quick bursts of blah over and over. I dont know how to explain it well. I dont know if that has anything to do with the oil getting on the plug or if its just a tuning thing.

Alright I think the problem is that my oil cap is leaking and all the oil that is leaking out is sitting next to the number 4 cylinder and leaking down in where the spark plug goes. I have noticed oil on the plug only twice and those were times I drove home from college 3hrs and there was tons of oil on the valve cover. This would explain why I dont have a misfire in that cylinder. And this could also explain that when I took out the plug the oil fell down in the hole..and why I have good compression numbers? I just beat the shit out of the car and a little oil had leaked out of the cap but I pulled the plug and no oil down there.

with a decent pair of plug wires that shouldnt be too possible. They should create a nice seal when pressed down tightly. Youd have to be losing alot of oil to pool in the valve cover, then drain into a cylinder like that id assume as there is a lip around the hole on the cover to prevent just that.
