I have read something about this screw that is on the bottom side of our 2g MAS. When i took a pic and scraped off the rubber surrounding covering the screw, i unscrewed it out to where it was flush with the bottom of the MAS. I took it out on the road and it ran like crap. It would stutter horribly all the way up to 5500 then it would act as if nothign happened and would take off. I stopped back at my house and adjusted it back to where it was originally set and haven't had a problem with it yet. There is more room to screw it all the way in. But my question is what is the purpose of this thing anyhow? What will happen if i turn it all the way in? Does it manually adjust the A/F mixture or something.? let me know guys. later:thumb: ANY OPINIONS TO THIS ARE WELCOMED.

it is how the car is tuned from the factory with that screw. you can make the car run more lean or more rich by adjusting that screw.. on a 2g you shoul really leave it alone and NEVER EVER touch it.

By unscrewing the maf screw you are letting in unmetered air. Meaning the ECU has no idea that extra air has entered your engine. Unless you have a S-AFC to richin up the mixture, it is highly recommended you leave it alone.

I got it adjsuted just right now back to the factory setting well close to it enough that it is not causing a problem with it, i am leaving it alone at that setting. I strightened out some of the honey combs that got bent a lil after i installed my K&N a long time ago.. Its flowing better, and i will pick up the AFC in may along with a fuel pump for probably either the AGP T28 or the FP Big28. later guys.

My car is running really rich too, so I went to adjust the MAS screw, but mine was all the way out of the airway path already. It had never been adjusted from what I could tell. Anything to worry about?

From what it sounds like adjsuting the screw in a big way is bad. I turned it all the way out and it ran like #### so i turned it back in where it was to start with and then backed it back out a 1/4 turn. it runs gooder and the A/f still shows it running rich but it went from pig rich to semi pig rich.
