Would an aluminized exhaust last just as long as a stainless if both not driving in the winter? Basically, if the car is not a winter vehicle how would they both stack up. Is 100 bux extra for stainless worth it for a turboback?

Depends on how long you want to keep the exhaust? Also SS is normally worth more $$$ when you go to sell it. DSMs come w/ SS exhausts stock... & they seem to last 10+ yrs pretty regularly.

Thanks for the info... I plan on throwing a 3" turbo back on and don't plan on selling it anytime soon. $100 for 5 more years of life seems alot smarter now that I think about it..

Even in the summer it will rust. If you get water on it at all it will rust or even live in a humid area. Winter and salt just accelerate the rusting process but it will happen on an aluminized exhaust no matter what. Even seen a rusted exhaust on a car in mexico? yeah they all are, that's what im talking about.

Besides that why take off a top quality SS exhaut and put on a galvanized one?

I concur with all the above advice-- I wish I'd gotten SS, but I just couldn't swing it at the time.

But having said that, couldn't you just "re-rustproof" the aluminized one every so often? I realize it'd be a pain, but it would be better than having your exhaust rust out.
