I'm having to switch to slim fans due to going to an o2 mounted WG. I was told that the left side was what was going to have to have a slim fan since thats going to be where the WG is sticking out at. I'm wanting to run only one fan period and still keep the A/C. My buddy has a GSX that has only one slim fan and has ice cold a/c and still has low coolant temps. What all do I need to do? The fan I have has two wires. A black and a blue.

How should I wire it?

Not to sound like a smart a** but I would run (not walk) and ask your buddy. I mean, it's done... it works... and he's a buddy.

Also, not very many people have been able to pull of a slim fan setup, so chances are we'll be looking to you for information. Best of luck.

This one's easy I was just in the same boat and I also have an O2 mounted ext. wg. I run one 12" fan on the pass. side and one 10" fan on the driver's side.

Passenger's side fan (fan will be on high setting):
Use the black wire for ground (-)
Use the the white wire w/ blue strip for your power(+)

Driver's side fan (fan will also be on the high setting):
Use the blue wire w/ black strip for your ground (-)
Use the blue wire w/ white strip for your power (+)

Sorry my camera takes ginormous pictures and I'm not patient enough to resize and submit any pictures using dial-up, but hope that helps you out :thumb:

So could I run my car with a/c with just one fan or would I also need to purchase two fans? The thing is I hardley EVER run the a/c just when I'm on a date or something.

You could, but your asking alot of that fan (I'd probably make sure to get a large flowing CFM fan if you do this). Give it a try and closely monitor things coolant temp wise with either a logger, DSM Link, or an aftermarket temp gauge. The stock gauge can get into the 220*+ range before it starts to move from the half way point OMG and from there can shoot up quickly if your stuck in traffic (which would ironically be the best conditions to watch it).
