ok, well it wont start- again...
I checked boost, I checked spark, and cleared my ECU.
I dont know, it turns over, wants to fire, goes for it but it just doesnt have enough...
I then realized that my AFPR wasnt getting any pressure what so ever.
shouldn't it get some when you turn it over, and at least have pressure.
it has the same symptom as when your out of gas, the way it wont start, but it has a half tank.
A friend of mine had his fuel pressure solinoid go out, and his wouldnt start either, but could that cause the same problem on a 2G, how much is it, and what is the number??
what else could it be, if not that??

Possibly fuel pump, cant build pressure if it isn't working. Put power to the fuel pump relay while sticking a small hose down the gas filler neck: put your ear up to the hose and listen for a whine, it is easier with two people. If there is no whine then the pump isnt running.

I have a walbro, believe me, if I put the connectors together, you can hear it from the engine bay!

double check that fuel pump and mke sure that it is in all the way and that the zip tie is tight. what happened to me was the ziptie wasnt tight and after a few bumps and what not fuel pressure dropped, all I had to do was put the pump back in and ziptie the crap out of it so it wouldnt move.

hope this helps
Chris

I checked to see if the pump wasnt working, it worked- but the car still doesnt start-
and chris- I installed it about a month ago, and I have to drive in/out of a driveway- that is a viscious bump, I dont think I put ANY zip-ties on that pump?
would that cause to get power, but build no pressure and not work??

ahhh, one of these.. I think you aren't a true dsm'er til you start a thread with a title like this. I remember my first one, it was ignition sequence (my bad)

anyways, its evident you aren't getting pressure from your fuel pump, as a fpr will hold pressure in the fuel rail between starts, and with it reading no pressure, the fuel will just sit, rather than actually go through the injectors. Remember, less resistive path, yada yada yada, fluid mechanics....

anyways, if your fuel pump is good, you might have a leak in your fuel lines, although something like that is hard to not notice. My guess is that the fuel pump isn't getting power, or enough power, to push the fuel into the rail. Do you have a datalogger that can "test" the fuel pump? With mmcd you can pressurize the fuel system without starting the car by going into the diagnostic options or whatever. If you do, try doing that and if you hear the pump, its getting at least some power. Get a volt meter and see if you are getting anywhere near 12 volts, and if you aren't theres your problem. Is your 255 rewired? if it is, the likelyhood that it is a wiring problem is drasically decreased, since the pump gets power from two sources. The relay could be bad, but I doubt it.

if you make sure the fuel system is not leaking, and the pump is getting power (and having the key in the on position gives it power), you will find your problem.

Also, you may want to check your fuel pump pickup filter to make sure it isn't clogged to hell or otherwise blocking the passage as fuel travels into the pump from the tank.

Although this is probably more of a theoretical conern than an actual since I couldn't really see a pickup filter getting so bad that it would actually cause a no-start, it's just one more thing to (easily) check.

ok, I have a 190- it was rewired but not anymore, and I FIXED IT!!!!!- YAAYYY!!!
I had a weaponR AFPR, and I put the stock FPR back on, then it started up fine, idled fine, good vaccum, no overheating. all is good, but it only had like 120 miles on it, could it just be defective??
