wastegate question

alright im just starting to figure out some of this turbo/wastegate/creep stuff out, ,now i have a 14b, is getting a external wastegate agood idea bad idea and y?
i know about emmisions and i dont have to worry about them. so that rules that out.
im trying to think for the future and want to get a 3" turbo back exhaust with o2 elim. but i dont have plans on getting the turbo upgrade for a while.
please help

Then theres really no need to spend all of that cash on an external if you dont plan to upgrade. 14b's work very well with internal gates so IMO its a waste of money that can be spent elsewhere

well the upgrade wouldnt come till very far down the line, i just didnt know if you are suposed to have an external wastegate on a small turbo like a 14b. or if there were disadvantages to it

the reason i ask is cuz i want to get a turbo back exhaust, and if i get it with the o2 elim, then i would need a external wastegate right?
