I just installed a 50 trim Garrett T3/T4 setup on my 90 Eclipse GS-T. The setup uses a Garrett manifold mounted Tial wastegate. I have a problem with the hood hitting the wastegate. My hood now has a small ding from this. I was hoping somebody has experienced this problem and could offer some suggestions as to how to cure this problem.

Right, that is why BR sells a relocatioin bracket to fit a DeltaGate wastegate on a 1G. Check out photos of their orange car.

But Tial is smaller and should fit better than DeltaGate, which model do you have?

You might also want to install harder motor mounts to prevent WG lifting under WOT. That is when it usually comes in contact with the hood.

All the early DSM hoods hit the wastegate with the manifold you are using. Buschur sells a turn down tube to remedy this or you could make your own. The turn down mounts the gate lower off the manifold.

just shave the top a little. It will be just fine. A friend of mine experienced the same thing. After he shaved some of the top of, he was able to close the hood with no problemo.

I will try the Buschur turndown tube and harder motor mounts. Now that the new turbo is installed, the wheel (no LSD yet!) hop is severe in 1st and 2cnd gears. Thanks for the help guys:)
