I was just in an accident a couple of days ago and some guy hit the front passenger side of my car basically causing me to have to replace the light, front bumper, fender, hood, and he even damaged my side mount intercooler. Instead of replacing the intercooler with a smic i was thinking of going with a fmic. Ive been looking around and ive been reading that upgrading to a fmic on a t25 turbo will just cause my car to actually be slower. For now I will actually be keeping it on the stock setup but within these next 2 months, probably 2 weeks into january I will be swapping the engine to either a jdm gvr4 setup which comes with a big16g and the 510cc injectors or a usdm 6bolt which i believe comes with a 14b. Im not sure what setup I will be doing just yet but eventually down the road I will be upgrading the turbo either way. What do you guys suggest on upgrading the intercooler to for either of these setups, most likely for the gvr4 setup if I could find it?

Current Mods: intake, 2.5"cat back exhaust, upgraded bov, magnecor wires.

Just go with a FMIC, your car won't be slower it will probably even be a little faster. You may notice a little more lag though. Just do it and get it out of the way since that is your situation especially if you plan on upgrading soon. Good luck!

yea, biggest headache in doing a front mount is the removal of the bumper and installation. But if you have to take the bumper off anyway...

Of course you could save over $1000 if you just go with a sidemount

Thanks for the help, I will probably do the fmic just because down the road it is eventually more cost effective. Someone was telling me to go with an indy race core fmic, anyone have any experience with these, good or bad?

I do not hve one, but Ken is a good guy, and these are great from what I hve heard. Besides, I don't like to buy parts from Greedy and HK$ and such if I can help it. Mr Bacon at IRC is less huge :)

claim injury and get a free FMIC

some #@%#@%#@%#@%#@% ran a red light and sued me for $25,000 (or at least tried)
nobody believed me except the court. not even the cops. and she had a lying sack of sh|t witness

I'd say your odds are good

i got run over in my rx7, got a gurt neck, tried to sue but couldnt because it has been all soft tissue damage so far. i wouldnt make up a stort either as they may always turn around and counter sue for lawyer fees and damages to them for fraud,

I would say go for it. The indy race core is one of the biggest fmic out of the major company that make fmic for our cars. But they are around 1200-1300 where u can get a greddy or apex for like 850. Up to u both have been in the 10's. I think Glazer ran 9's with the big Greddy fmic. so keep your choices open
