snapped my turbos shaft?

hey i was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem with their turbos before...i have a 14b on my 2g and for the past couple days it was acting a little funny. for instance i'd be on the freeway and when i would boost it would sort of hesitate into boost..However, after today it just stopped boosting completely. I checked for leaks and there were none. I Removed the intake pipe and intercooler pipes to check for oil and there was none. I inspected the compressor and it looked fine on the inside, no oil and still spun freely. I even took the downpipe off to check for oil inside and there was none. Heck the car still even runs and idles like normal..It just will not go into boost at all..has anyone had this problem before and if so what was wrong?
 
wastegate might be stuck open, or there could be too many cracks around its opening....a common 14b issue.

I've never heard of the shaft snapping, but I guess anything could happen.

the only thing I could think of doing is to take off the downpipe and O2 housing and spin the turbine and see if the compressor wheel spins along with it.
 
Did you do the 14b install using most of the stock 2g parts?
Have you checked for boost leaks?
If you get really stuck PM me and I will let you know who in S.D. to ask for help.

When my T25 went it had actually spun the nut off the compressor wheel. However it ran like total crap on the way home. It would idle fine, and would do fine driving as long as I didn't go over 10inHg. Above that it ran like total crap.
 
I'm gonna have to agree with greeneclipse, sounds like a wastegate problem. Check to make sure the actuator is still connected.

On the other hand I have seen the shaft break on a 14b, but you say yours has no shaft play while this turbo had the compressor wheel and half the shaft flopping around inside. So I think your good there.
 
okay found problem...my wastegate actuator broke..however i already got a new one and put it on and now im back in boost. : )
