I have a 92 eclipse GS thats stock. The fuel pump died and I'm putting one in from a 93 Tsi.The rubber grommet that supports the pump on the hanger at the bottom does not match up.I can get it to sit where I think it will work fine but I'm going to end up using a hose clamp to hold the pump to the bracket. Is there ant reason I can't do this? Even if I could get the correct grommet,it will not fit the hanger from what I can see...the Tsi pump is alot larger than the little NT one.Is there any reason the actual pump body needs to be insulated completely from the hanger or can I just hose clamp it on and be good to go?

The problem might be the difference in sending units btwn FWD and AWD cars. Was it a TSi AWD you got it from? If so, maybe try picking one up from a FWD TSi to see if that is a little easier.

Both FWD,tanks should be the same and the hanger might even be the same, just the bottom grommet does not line up and the pump is just bigger so it will touch that bracket. As long as I can get the turbo fuel pump with its little cocked sideways pickup filter wedged in the NT pump grommet I think it should be fine....only one way to tell.:sneaky:
