HKS SSQV vs. Super Sound BOV

does anybody know whether the HKS SSQV Blow-Off Valve is louder than the super sound BOV? and do any of them leak or lead to boost creep?

The super sound is definetly louder than the sequential. All bov's will leak eventually, yet none will ever lead you to boost creep. My brother has a super sound on his 240sx and it is by far the loudest BOV I have ever heard on any car, and that is what everyone says. IMO, the esquential BOV sounds very nice and should hold more boost than the super sound (starts to leak around 22psi). Recirc kits are made for both so whatever you get should work for you either way

well from just the name u can tell the blitz is a bit louder...i vented my hks to atmo. and it was pretty loud even at low boost...and during quick shifts it sounded REAL nice....i like the sound.....if anything i'd get the hks for the fact that it CAN'T leak boost at idle...i dunno, it was a good enough reason for me....performance coupled with sound, the HKS IMHO takes it..latez

i have the hks ss bov and i friggin love it, it makes the perfect whistled whoosh along with holding as much boost as i need it to. i just need to get the right flange to it will bolt on to my new fmic and uip, once thats done, things will be in order, but getting back to it, the hks is perfect, easy install, perfect sound, great product, just my (you know how much)

I have an hks ss bov that I haven't installed yet. It's mated to a pipe...so would I have to get custum ui piping? Can I just have a mandrel shop make some for me?

What are your guys thoughts on the apexi bov? I can get it for a good price but I would still consider the hks.

can't beat that, i think mine was somewhere near $175, i love it, it just seems that there aren't any uip out there with a flange for the hks unit, it sucks, its always the greddy, 1g or blitz....does anyone know of a UIP for an hks??

the skyline flange for an r33 or r32 or sylvia works for our cars...DIRECT bolt on...i had to buy it off ebay with ANOTHER bov for $175...ughh...but hey, now its bolt on to ANY 1g flanged system..heres the part number from hks #17669-015187 u must explain to an HKS dealer what ur ordering..late
