Hey DSM people what's up? I came to this site because yesterday some guy in a black GS-T pulled up beside me on the free way and we went at it a little bit and all in all he kicked my ass. His car looked completely stock except for the three gauges he had on his A-pillar and the wicked BOV sound I heard when he started pulling on me.
We kept messing with each other for a while and then he followed me until I stopped and started talking about his Eclipse and he took me for a ride and we raced some more from a stop...still beat me by a couple car lengths, anyway, he his car is mostly stock except he has some big ass turbo in it (forget model) and his BOV is leaking so he would have handed it to me way worse if it was working right.
He said he is selling the Turbo that's on thier right now for $500 or something and he said it would work on my SE-R with the QR25DE motor. I know you guys might not know much about this motor but how much would it take to swap a Turbo from an Eclipse to my car. Would it be expensive as heck to do all the piping and stuff, and would I need E-manage or some other type computer for the Turbo??
He said the guy that does his work for him and that would work on mine for me is the owner of some DSM board or something and his name is Dave. It's probobly not this board but I couldn't find any other DSM boards. I'm guessing thier is a lot more involved with putting his turbo on my car then just slipping it in thier, but am I wrong?

100% not worth the hassle. This is a totally custom job. You have to have an exhaust manifold made to bolt up to the turbo, run your own oil and water lines, get an intercooler and fabricate plumbing for it (you must have space for it also) have reasonable compression, probably have your ECU changed since the airflow will be read all wrong, etc etc

if you like the eclipse you should buy one man. the Sentra is not a fast car believe me I've had one

What kind of times have you run in your new SE-R my goodfriend has a SR20DET P10 G20 and its pretty quick. I've heard from alot of people that the QR25 is a really disappointing motor, what do you think?

my friend has a 2002 SE-R and it hung with me in first and second before i had my controllers. Also, they handle really good

why would you want to turbo a new SER when they allready have a hard enough time staying in 1 piece NA?

This is what I'm questioning, I don't know if its the car's quality or lack thereof or if its the owners beating the piss out of a brand new car.

its got to be a quality control problem, a kid i know went through 3 motors in 6K miles, he then promptly traded it in.

Hmm... looks like we finally found a car that gives the Ford Focus a run for its money in warantee repairs.
