Hey everyone hows it going? Its been a long time since ive been on these boards after i sold my GST/6 bolt etc..Onto the 300ZX TT's. Anyways im up here tryin to help a friend out with his 97 GST. Ive lost lots of knowledge of DSM's and got a few questions on his tuning situation that hes having problems with....

His mod's consist of: 6 bolt swap w/ 2g head, 1g CAS, 9.1 wiseco piston, eagle H beam rods, Evo 3 16g, Full turbo back N1, 680CC injectors, 255 LPH fuel pump, FMIC w/2.5 SS pips, Greddy Type S BOV, SAFC-II, AVCR, Fidanza flywheel, ACT Stage 2 clutch, 97 ECU

He is having problems tuning with the 680cc's and is thinking of going out and gettin a Eprom ECU and DSM link. I remember a lot of people using keydiver chips i believe to compensate for bigger injectors. I also thought that you needed an Eprom ECU in order to run a keydiver chip, am i wrong? Are you able to get your non eprom ECU's socketed to be able to run something like a keydiver chip, or does he need to purchase a 95 ECU? Also is there any other reasonable ways for compensating for these bigger injectors? Much thanks to everyone in advance.

Any tuning device (short of full standalone) that provides compensation AT the ECU requires a '95 EPROM ECU. You can not socket a non-eprom ECU to run a chip.

I had problems running 650cc injectors with MAFT alone, so I went with DSMLink and it solved all of my high timing issues.

Jeff O. @ dsmchips.com is great. His service is great too. Andymoratis (sorry dude if I spelt it wrong) is very knowledgable about custom burned chips for 2g's.

If your friend is interested in DSMlink, he will need a 95 Eprom Ecu.

I highly recommend a custom burned chip if your friend is on a limited budget, if he has the $$$ get the necessary stuff and the DSMlink package :thumb: all the way.

BTW I have a dsmchip and FIC 750's with ZERO problems.....no safc, and no other tuning device.

Jeff O. is awesome. Very knowledgeable, and EXTREMELY patient. I can't even begin to count the numbers of question he answered prior to buying from him, and even afterwards. :thumb:
