I am still debating on what engine/turbo setup to get for my car. I am going to do some drag racing, but more road racing and autocrossing.

The 2.4L looks to be very promising with the added torque for drag racing. As it will help spool a bigger turbo. The added torque will help you get out of corners faster as well.

The ball bearing turbo seems to do the same thing in a different way. Instead of adding torque, the spooling time decreases. The L1R looks very nice for autox and road racing. The instant boost between shifts could help out alot.

If I get a stroker, and put on a ball-bearing turbo. What happens then? The spool time on a regular 2.0 is already low with a BB turbo, and with the stroker... will it be even lower? Would I be able to advantage of a Stroker engine with a BB turbo? Thanks in advance.

With added torque and quicker spool means you'll be breaking more trannies.

That's what I was thinking too... tranny going bye-bye

jw - Think it would be better to go for the 6-bolt and L1R for a road race/auto-x car then?

also remember the powerband on the 2.4 changes. the 2.0 likes to make more power up top, the 2.4 likes to make more midrange power and less up top.

I think with a L1R and a 2.4 youd be see'ing some pretty sick spool times. I think the L1R and a 6 bolt would probably make you happy.
