First off before anyone says it, No I am not venting this BOV, I am properly recirculating it. Now my Greddy RS went on the same time I had my new turbo/FMIC and piping installed. When I boost higher than about 1 Psi (Yes, 1 PSi) and then let off the gas completly the BOV chatters and continues to chatter as the revs fall downward of 1000 RPMs and stalling the car. As before, it is reciculated, no leaks by the BOV, I bought it used so I figure a possibility is that the spring or diaphram is not working properly. Additionaly I tried to search for info on adjusting spring tension but I couldn't find much information on it so I just increased it (twisted toward Hard on it), it felt like it helped at first but then it still stalled. Its fine between shifts still. I know its common for vented BOVs to stall and I have no leaks in that area so I ran out of ideas. Any?

I have the type S not the RS but shouldn't be much difference. After you adjust the screw
get in the car and rev the motor and let off. It takes around 4k or more to rev high enough to get the BOV to work (blow off).

The first time I tried it, I wasn't reving high enough to get it to blow off, so don't be scared to rev it good.

If it flutters just adjust the screw and then rev it up again and listen.

Repeat untill it doesn't flutter and then take it for a test drive.

My type S has a second nipple on the back near the bottom that had to be recirculated back into the upic pipe to get it to stop fluttering.....I don't know if the RS has that second nipple or not.

If it does, you can drill and tap the intercooler pipe and install a fitting. Then run a hose from the lower nipple on the bov to the new fitting/nipple. The new fitting needs to be somewhere between the intercooler and the bov. I tapped mine right after the bend from the intercooler, where the pipe inters into the engine compartment.

I had a type s w/ this problem and I just tightened it to hard and it worked...............for about 1 day. The bolt that you tighten it on stripped and it wasnt working properly. Needless to say it went in the garbage that week.

So how can you say you didn't have to use the lower nipple if you only had the thing for a week and then tossed it?

Sounds like you did have a problem and maybe that would of fixed it.

My RS flutters when the boost is low (between 1 and maybe 5 PSI), but not all the way down to 1000 RPM. If the boost is higher it does the nice Greddy "salvo" and is then silent.

Perhaps your vacuum line to the BOV is being kinked or is clogged? My adjustment screw is tightened almost all the way. But, maybe your BOV isn't working at all and what you're hearing is the pressure forcing it's way out the compressor of the turbo?
