EGR block off!!!!

I wanna block off my EGR valve. i know you have to buy the block off plate. then you can take off many useless wires? DOES anyone have pictures of a block off they did?? anyone got ant instructions or tips????

I have seen the block off plates on ebay for ~ $20 but I also have no idea what good it does or any info on it, i would like to see that myself.

I have a few questions to add tho..

I have emissions in my area when I have to go for emissions is this something I can reverse so my car will pass?
What wires and hoses can you get rid of if you remove it?
Any other pros and cons that should be discussed?

supposivly it cuts off exhaust gas from recirculating into the intake, so it keeps it cooler and more responsive when you hit the accelerator. you could toss the egr, recirc can, all the egr lines from the throttle body and some sensors on the coolant neck (2g obd2 may throw codes). you wont pass emissions, may get nasty gas fumes and poor milage, and is not too hard to reverse it.

.Actually removing it will probably get you better emissions... it did for me. Removing it is very simple. All I did was make my own block off plate from a red bull can. Just cut out a sheet of aluminum to match it, leave the egr on the manifold and bolt it in. you can remove all kinds of crap from the engine if your not concerned with emission. Ive removed soo much stuff its not even funny. Engine lookes much better without all that stock crap there. Dont buy anythign just be creative and youll be fine

I've had zero adverse effects from my EGR block off. The amount of useless vacuum hoses and crap I pulled out is amazing. I cut my own plate from a piece of 1/8 inch aluminum. I have not required emissions testing since I removed the EGR, but my car already passed without a cat, and I know several people who pass without an EGR. Here is a pic of my EGR plate installed.

i passed emissions with a sheetmetal intake manifold which does away with the egr. Very easy and good mod. Go for it
