I am running a big 16g turbo on the stock fuel system, (stock pump as well) I have a busher FPR as well. My question is if I run 15 psi do I need to up the fuel pressure to keep the car from running lean? If so what pressure is advised and why?

Do you have a logger? Thats the only way to really know whats going on & making sure your not hurting anything. Did you atleast rewire the fuel pump? When I ran my evoIII on the stock fuel system just rewired pump @ 15 psi I saw up to 107% injector duty cycle, I was safe as I was running dsmlink at the time to keep track of things. You will probably want to bump your fp up a couple psi, but you need a logger to know for sure.

Yes I do have a logger, no the fuel pump as not been rewired. I use a MMCD logger but I cannot find the Injector duty cycle menu. Would that menu be labeled IDC? Right now I have the car set at 40psi fuel pressure running 14 psi. I rarely race, so my car rarely sees 14 psi consistantly.

You should defently rewire the fuel pump, its cheep to do and will give you the extra fuel when you need it most. With a rewire you'll see a couple more volts, which makes a huge difference on pump flow, around 14 volts compared to 11 or 12 with factory wiring. Im not farmilliar with the 1g loggers so I don't know if you are able to read injector duty cycle, but I believe you can log knock? If so do a wot pull and look for knock, indicationg that you may be running lean. Is that 40 psi with tha vac hose on or disconnected?

40 psi with the hose disconected and pluged for setting purpases. You really need a fuel pump and rewire go with the 255 since you have an AFPR.

I say buy a Walbro 255 pump. Its better to spend the money now rather than paying for later with a disaster. Think about it.

I would buy the pump and perform a rewire, you've already got the FPR. One of the sponsors has the 255 for less than $100.

You don't want to have your car go down over running lean.
