Anyone with a 2.4 done a before and after to stock test with a smim?
I realize they are supposed to outperform the stock ones at high rpm but was wondering what gains people got with lower rev limits.I have a full forged 2.4 being completed but pretty sure will keep it 7500 to 8000 max rpm limit.

Also guess if you have not done actual track comparison with the smim on a 2.3 or 2.4 still like to hear some opinions about how the smim helped ,low end ,mid and high..even car lost low and mid and only gained high like some say will happen.

Depending on the SMIM depends on the gains. I have used the Magnus intake manifold before and seen good power in the low end and over 35hp gain on the topend. That was dyno-tuned as well. There velocity stacks in the manifold make for some awesome flow. I would highly recommend it if you haven't decided on which to buy yet. That was on a 2.0 so I can image the 2.4 will net a little better low end power and more high end power along with a noticable gain in torque. I got about 20 in torque and 37 in horsepower.

What rpm did it give this gain..was it mostly above 7500 to 8000 about as high as will want to rev my 2.4 to.
I am looking at the jm fabrications one also as the magnus is very expensive now even being made in canada where I live. I have to decide if its really worth the extra bucks compared the relatively new but still getting some good results jm fab one.

The gains kicked in just past 5100 and carried to 7200 which is as high as I was willing to turn my motor. I don't doubt it would carry well into the 8k rpm range. AMS also makes an awesome intake manifold but I beleive it is just for the EVO.
