I dont really post here that much, but i guess thats beside the point. I have been reading a lot about how the eBay intake manifold was junk, and also about how the maft is not good by itself for higher hp levels. I have recently finished helping my friend put together his car. Its a 90 model gsx with a stock jdm motor with pretty bad compression. He bought the car with a rod slung through the block, and we just installed the jdm motor with the same parts. It already had the eBay intake manifold on it, so I talked him into leaving it on there. I did however do some porting on the intake. The intake ports are sort of rounded, not matching very well to the square tubes of the intake. All I did was port the manifold side of the flange for a little better flow. It probably didnt help all that much, but it seemed better than letting it hit a wall in every corner. I took a cone shaped bit and just ported the one side. So the flange is actually sqaurish on one side and roundish on the other side. The car has a stock long block (jdm) minus cams. It has a set of hks 272's for cams. Its using a stock 90 model tb also. Its a ported 2g manifold with a fp red as a turbo. It has a custom 3in turbo back with a 40mm hks gate. It has a rather small top to bottom flow cooler with 2.5 inch pipes. The car has 850cc injectors, and the only fuel control it has is the maft. This is not a blow through setup. The mas is on the 3inch intake pipe. The car doesnt even have a fpr and is using a rewired supra pump. I tuned it with only a logger. The car has run a best of 11.33 @ 128.71 and 7.46 @ 101.31. Keep in mind the guy has only had the car less than a month, so hes not really up to par driving it yet. I think once he gets the launch right, and the boost is all the way up an 11.0/10.90 is possible. The above runs were made at 27lbs, and the best 60 hes had so far is a 1.77. Judging by the mph i would think this car is making at least 450 if not a little more. Im not saying by any means go out and buy the eBay manifold, just wanted to clear up a little about it. Its heavy, ugly, and cheap, but it real life it works fine. The maft also seems to be working fine. I also think that it can be used in high hp applications by itself if you dont have the money for anything else. The guy that owns this car was going to buy lots of other stuff for it at first, but running as good as it did we didnt think there was any need to yet. Any questions i will gladly try to answer. Just let me know if you have any.
p.s. also sorry if this is in the wrong section. I know you mods have been cracking down lately.

) Most all the high hp dsm's i work on have built trannys. The 7bolt i spoke of has a Shep Trans. I can't imagine why you would have problems on a t-28 at 15lbs with anything. Unless your talking about normal dsm stuff.
