Will be running the scm 50 trim this year and wanted to get some opinions on injectors size. Im sure 780's will be fine but also condidering 880's just to be safe. Will be mainly on pump gas for the most part. I am running an SAFC and getting a stg.3 chip burned as soon as i decide. Any info would be appreciated.

Ifyou're going to get a chip burned then go for the 880's. But if you want I have a set of PTE 780's with less than 3000miles on them I'll sell so I can upgrade to 880's myself.

Well he has a good Buschur FMIC and is planning on mostly pump fuel so the 750's will be fine. I say 750cc's because I am an FIC man myself. I like their spray pattern with a half dozen small holes that spray the fuel but I am not familir with PTE's and whether they have 1 hole like stock or several like the FIC's.
Info that would be helpful would be the amount of boost you plan to run but having a stock bottom end probably nor much over 22 psi though knock is more a factor than the stock head bolts and gasket.
On the 850cc side you would be able to run closer to RC Engineering's recommended 80% maximum duty cycle. Most guys over run their injectors, lowering their life. Having a burned chip would allow the 850's to be tuned much easier as would the 750's. Any chance you will upgrade the 50 trim? I thought an EVO 16G was my turbo to end all. I have since had a 50 trim, a 60-1 and now a Holset HX-35/40 with 950cc inj's and I mhave seen 91% IDC and I have not gotten the motor tuned properly and I also am going to mostly run pump but 30 psi. My chip has been burned to run high boost on pump with reduced timing advance though I have another chip with 4* more timing advance and if that is too much for pump I can add some 112 leaded. Even 2 gallons does wonders for 93 pump. I could have gone with the new 1150cc FIC injectors if I keep my base fuel pressure at 40psi.
Check out the injector sizing chart at www.rceng.com
a 50 trim would make 500HP max realistically.
So I said a lot but again did not answer your question. You need to deceide how much boost you plan to run, maximum base fuel pressure you plan(your chip burner will need that info) and how far you are willing to push the injectors, 80% IDC or 95% IDC makes a big difference.
I pushed my 60-1 to 22 psi on 650's. High IDC's and often some race.
A little more info would help. Heck give those 780cc inj's a look at as PTE's can't be bad or they would not be selling them. I just prefer FIC's myself. mark

I am planning on running around 22-23 psi or so on pump as long as i can get a good tune. On race gas i will be looking at possibly 24-25psi. Im going for a 80% IDC, so i am safe. I was thinking the PTE's, they are basicaly the same injector as the FIC, and have the several holes opposed to one. As for the 50trim, i will probably go larger next year along with a engine build. I may even run race gas most of the time considering the car is not my daily driver.

Well enjoy the upgrades. Check out guys who have run good times and check their set-ups and email them with questions. I am looking for a low 11 this season but then that's it as I am tired of modding and want to drive! Good Luck, Mark
