well i had an order for the Fidanza flywheel but ofcourse like everything else I need backorder of 2 weeks.. I was thinking of opting for the RRE Lightened Stock flywheel, and hoping that they have it in stock.. anyone have any comment on the RRE lightened flywheel?

Lightened Stock Flywheel $135
Flywheel is lightened from the factory weight of 19 lbs to 14-14.5 lbs and then re-surfaced for both ACT or CFDF clutches to a .609" step height. You must return your old flywheel within 2-3 weeks. You will be charged a $150 core charge that will be refunded when a usable flywheel is returned to us. Repeat customers can have this charge waived if you ask nice :) Availability can be limited at times, plan ahead.

Larry I would either do the Fidanza or nothing at all. I don’t think RRE is lightening the flywheels that much anymore because they have exploded in the past in some rare extreme cases. Its not worth the money and effort for the return you will get. The Fidanza fw is much stronger and actually worth the money.

I remember last January I blew my stock clutch on my white fwd car. It was too cold for any of my friends work on it outside so I had to get a mechanic to do it and there was 3 week back order on that clutch. The car was out of commission for about a month and it was my only way to work I had to bum rides the whole time.

If it makes you feel any better my clutchmasters 4 puck clutch blew on Sunday and I had to get towed home. So I ordered a 2600 and while it’s apart I am building the tranny with a 4 gear spider diff and I think I will get it dyno tuned as well.

ya know whats funny.. how come whenever something bad happens, other people say if it makes ya feel better and they tell you something bad that happened to them.. ;)

that doesnt make me feel better..it just proves that life treats everyone equally like **** :)

What about a JUN or Centerforce Light flywheel. They may not be on back order.

I agree with you. But when you need a part sometimes you have to pay more. I was just giving suggestions.

Isn't the Fidanza very close in price to the Jun? I noticed that Extreme Motorsports has the Jun for $425 and the Clutch Masters for $399... The Clutch Masters is probably rebadged, but the Jun should be a good choice shouldn't it?

My question is... Will a lightened flywheel really help a high powered GS-T, or hurt it in the launching dept? Since 1st and 2nd gears are where your going to benefit the most from the lightened flywheel.

You just have to learn how to launch again. but spools-up quicker and accelerated quicker.

wow the stock flywheel is 19lb. i think i read that the Fidanza only weighs 8lb OMG from what i read the fidanza is super light.

Best flywheel to do is jun. Its lighter than the fidanza and with the full cromoly construction and not poly metal like the fidanza it is much more durable and will transfer less heat.

The Jun is good, but it can't take the abuse. The Jun flywheel will get alot of hot spots on it. You can cut the Jun maybe twice, but that’s about it. The Fidanza on the other hand can take more abuse and when the friction plate wears out you just simply put in new friction plate. The friction plate and bolts run around $75.

So in the long run the Fidanza will perform better, last much longer and will be cheaper in price than the JUN.

I know this from first hand experience not hear say.
