Machine shop/Piston Slap.

I've been learning more about piston slap and after market pistons. And that u have to have your head machined for your pistons. Anyone know what happens if they machine your head to much and u get piston slap. What does the machine shop do? Is there anything they can do?

Machine work on your head has no real effect on your pistons. "Piston slap" is caused by poor piston to cylinder wall clearance on your block. As for what you can do to prevent that look at the 18 posts going on about forged vs cast pistons. Slowboy gave so good machine shop advice over in the extreme forum.
