Which APEX exhaust should i get?

i personally dont have one but what i have heard is that the apexi are very loud. i love the loudness, make sure you know your noise regulations...no one wants to get pulled over

I like the N1, but if you don't plan on going turbo, I wouldn't go any bigger than 2.5 inches. Also, it would be much cheaper to just get the muffler, and take it to a muffler shop and have them do the piping for you.

Has anyone ever heard the GT Spec exhaust? It *supposedly* is the best exhaust system available... BUT it's also 700+ for a catback. I wanted to hear what that beast must sound like. It is 3.10-3.50" all the way through with a 4.5" tip. I might have to buy it and try it just to see what it sounds like.

since your from NY I would get apexi GT spec. I believe it is the same design expect GT is SS.

GT downpipes are the same design as the N1 downpipes but the GT are SS. The GT cat back are advertised as being bigger than the N1 catback, but if you look at the piping sizes below, the GT and the N1 are the same. The GT are only made for GST and GSXs. By getting a GT, you are getting the same exhaust as a N1, but you are getting is a polished SS exhaust, not worth the additional $200 in my opinion.

The GT Spec Muffler is the ultimate in high power exhaust systems. Previously available only for select GT class vehicles, we are now proud to offer the GT Muffler for a wide variety of popular vehicles. The GT System is a FULLY polished stainless steel exhaust utilizing a massive 95mm* (3.74 inches) piping diameter channeled through a 114.3mm (4.5 inch) tip. A'PEX proudly stands as one of the only manufacturers in Japan to own and operate a 95mm mandrel pipe bender. An A'PEX Silencer is included to suppress exhaust sound output for street applications. By using even lighter SUS 304 stainless steel piping to save weight, the GT Series muffler stands as the benchmark of power, craftsmanship, and design. Each muffler incorporates immaculate robotic TIG welds as well as hand crafted welding.
*Piping diameter dependant on application.

The N1 series muffler has become a staple of the import tuning industry. The N1 was the first of its kind to incorporate the classic angled muffler design that has became so familiar with todays street cars. Born from our involvement in the grueling N1 endurance series, the N1 exhaust system pairs a straight through design racing muffler with free flowing, mandrel bent piping (60.5mm N/A, 80mm for turbo applications). The combination has resulted in dyno proven horsepower and countless satisfied customers world wide. Designed with track use in mind, durability is of utmost importance. The polished SUS 304 stainless steel canister features robotic TIG welding for an immaculate finish and years of reliable performance. The mild steel piping is treated with our special high temperature titanium particle coating. The N1 is truly THE benchmark in which others strive to duplicate.

For a N/T I'd go with the WS.

The WS Exhaust series is the A'PEX answer to the ultimate street muffler system with all around performance. The canister is made of the highest grade polished SUS304 stainless steel while the mandrel bent piping consists of high temperature, titanium particle coated mild steel. This muffler has always been the standard for aftermarket street exhaust systems. The oval canister houses a newly designed rolled tip for an extremely high class finish. Interior construction has been fine tuned for even more low to mid-range power. Countless magazine dyno tests have proven the WS exhaust to be one of the best all around exhaust systems on the market. As always, all A'PEX cat back exhaust systems come complete with all necessary hangers, nuts, bolts, and gaskets.

The World Sport muffler is for the performance enthusiast who has more on their minds than just pure power. This system is designed to provide excellent low and mid range power without excessive noise. The sporty, yet elegant look is made possible by using a polished SUS 304 stainless steel muffler, 60mm titanium particle powder coated mild steel piping, paired with a 100mm (3.93 inch) polished tip. Robotic TIG welds along with precise hand crafted welds ensure maximum longevity and performance. The WS system possesses all of the motorsports passion and intensity associated with A'PEXi products. This system is ideal for the daily driver car of an enthusiast, or for vehicles that want the high class sporty look without the noise.

I recently ordered my n1 exhaust and will be installing it this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes. :thumb:

get the N1 muffler and bring it to a muffler shop and let them build it. i got my turbo back for 500 with the muffler. sounds better (in my opinion) then the full apexi n1 exhasut

Want to add that i have the Apexi GT Spec downpipe with full exhaust. I had the N1 before and it was not as deep. The N1 sounds a little better at idle but nothing a set of cams cant take care of. This exhaust could get a little loud and on the highway a cellphone cant be used. It is a truly awesome exhaust and the piping compared to the N1 is alot bigger! My car is lowered 2 inches and now with 2 people in the car the flange scrapes the ground where the N1 still has some clearance. Any questions on the exhaust just send a email.. And if i was to get another exhaust i would probably get the HKS carbon tip.. Supposed to sound great also :thumb:

I recommend the Apexi Worldsport APX-115-KM02, slightly larger piping then the other world sports u had listed

i just installed my turbo back n1 a couple of weeks ago and i love it, i spent 717 shipped for my turbo back. :talon:

I've noticed that exhausts that sound good on a turbo car, sound like shit on a non-turbo.

Why bother modding a n/a? Mine for damn sure isn't modded. LOL

I installed the N1 cat back on my car 2 weeks ago and I love it. I plan on getting RREs short downpipe and 3" cat later on. I'd go with a WS for N/T and N1 for turbo.

How does the Dunk sound on the GST/X? I had one on my ITR and my cousin has one on his GSR which sounds/sounded amazing, how do they sound on the turbo eclipses?

On a 2gnt do not go larger than 2.5" inner pipe diameter or you will feel the loss of torque.

Guys please remember the thread starter owns a 2gnt and the exhuast options for us 4g63 turbo cars should not be recommended, unless he plans to add a turbo kit. :thumb:

I don't know about the exhaust, my car rattling makes too much to use a cell phone though. Another vote here for the N1 though, I like the way it sounds.

i ran an n1 system on my 92.downpipe and catback. It was fairly loud but never got a ticket for it.Also the silencer that comes with works ok for nt but would not work well with turbos. It seemed to really kill spool up and power.
I have seen pics but can't seem to find it for sale much lately on this new active silencer they came out with, thought it was apexi and it opens as you step on the gas ,supposed to work much better on turbos and be fairly quiet.I was thinking of trying to get one of those for highway trips and stuff like that when you want it a bit mellower or if the local cops start being annoying.
I plan on gt apexi setups downpipe and catback on my new 97.Planning on keeping my 97 for long long time .I don't drive in winter anyway but nice to have the full stainless regardless. The gt downpipe is not that much more but the catback is quite a bit more.
For non turbo the n1 or gt is pretty much overkill but you can buy turbo kits now for the non turbo cars.so then it would be a good future mod and with the silencer in the non turbo it will have decent low end torque.

How can anyone justify paying htat much for a mild steel exhaust that WILL rust to shit? I personally know 3 people who have had the N1's that have rusted through the pipe/muffler and I sure as hell wouldn't overpay for an exhaust system thats gonna got shit....
