chtown,
ALso on my car 98 eclipse 6 bolt i want to go with a different manifold but dont want nothing out rageous expensive or something really high as i have a carbon fiber hood. WHat would you sugest to go with?? I heard that them pacesetter's manifolds crack alot?? Also with me having a garret t3/t4 turbo 61 trim is this a problem? It son my 2g manifold now with out any probs?? Thanks!

You could get an SBR cast manifold or a ported evo manifold for a good improvement for around 200-225 dollars I think. Also you could check out a DNP manifold. Pacesetter has had mixed reviews. Many people like them and many do not. It's up to you whether you want to go that route... On a side note I think I remember the pacesetter manifolds having a 3-year warranty or something though if it does crack.

I want something a little nicer looking also something that flows better i know the 2g manifold is good but really want something that flows more for my big monster LOL!:thumb:

Go with the SBR for added flow and a nice polished SS heat shield for look. Mark

The 2g mani flows fine, my suggestion is get it ported then get a cover from JM fabrications. You'll cover the entire manifold with it and it'll look nice and pretty for you.

i got the jm heat shield for like 35 bucks. looks great and easy to clean.

The EVO manifold is not going to look any better than the 2G manifold, especially if you're using the heat shield like you're suppose to. I don't think an EVO manifold is going to out flow a WELL PORTED 2g manifold enough to justify the cost, money can be better spent else where.

The ported 2g manifold is one of the best flowing manifolds for our car. You'll pick up more power with a better intake manifold or some really good cams. The 2g manifold has been in the 10s way too many times for you to spend $225 - 300 on what someone might claim as a better manifold. I see you are running a 61 trim turbo, what is that exactly? Is it a bolt on scm61 from precision? If thats the case then the compressor wheel is a 56 trim wheel. The inducer is 61mm, exducer = 82mm. (61^2/82^2) X 100 = 56

Beautiful, see no need to spend money on an expensive manifold unless yours is cracked (the reason I got the SBR one) the 2g mani ported flows plenty and you can cover it up if you want the bling factor.

True.
I got the evo manifold because my 2g had 2 cracks in it.I really don't notice any power gains yet,or faster spool, but it was cheaper than an oem one from the mitsu dealer. :)

I will take mine of and check for cracks if none i will take it to a macj=hine shop and have it ported !! How much do i get it ported?? ANy ideas?? Or will they know?? Thanks Ummm heat shield looks good!! Yes its a scm61 i thought that the 61 stood for 61 trim??? Its a awesome turbo!!:thumb:

Paying for a port job is like paying someone to change your oil, porting sounds intimidating at first but actually quite easy once you get started. Use the labor fee to get yourself the tools needed, basically you want to port match the manifold collector and the turbine housing inlet to a 7cm gasket. Do a search, there are tons of threads with pics.
