EXHAUST ADVICE - Please Help

HELP!!!
I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice. I am going to buy an exhaust system within a month for my 1996 Eclipse GST Spyder and would like to know what I should get. I would like it to sound like the exhaust in the Fast and the Furious' Supra. Please let me know what your opinion is.

Try the Apex N1 or Greddy EVO. They both sound great make good power and bolt right up.
 
I have the Apexi WS, I think. RS, WS, same exhaust basically. SOund is very nice and mellow, but really opens up with a mash of the gas. The N1 sounds nice too. i would save go with an Apexi exhaust. They seem to sound the best, IMO, for the 2G.
 
A turbo eclipse will not sound like a 700hp supra. So lets go ahead and abandon that idea. If you want loud get a atr,buschur,apex if you want low and deep get a thermal.
 
yea, and even if we had a 700 hp DSM it still would only be a 2.0 liter. A larger engine has a deeper, throatier sound. Just like a larger drum makes more bass, a larger speaker thumps more, or even a big watermelon makes a deeper sound when you smack it than a small honeydew.

That aside, a properly tuned 4G63 makes a very nice noise, so listen to the other guys who have had several of these things. Myself, I am still stock, but its probably next.

I DONT CARE ABOUT EMMISIONS LAWS OR NOISE IM JUST WONDERING IF I USE A 3 INCH CUSTOM MADE EXHUAST USE A OFF ROAD PIPE WHERE THE CAT IS AND USE NO MUFFLER WOULDNT THE TUBO PROVIDE ADIQUITE BACK PRESSURE MEANING I WOULD HAVE THE LEAST RESTRICTIVE EXHUAST MOST POWER AND A LOAD EXHUAST PROBALY VERY NOISY BUT I DONT CARE I JUST WANNA KNOW IF IT WILL DAMAGE MY CAR I WOULD APPRICIATE ANY ADVICE I DID THIS ON MY 87 GLHS AND GAINED 50 HP @ WHEELS I HOPE TO DUPLICATE THE SAME THING WITH MY ECLIPSE THANK YOU
 
It won't damage your engine any. Whether it will help, or provide enough backpressure is controversial. I find it interesting that all the exhaust shops say 3" is ridiculous. I have also seen some cars sound really crappy with a 3" and a test pipe, so I think some of it depends on the car. I personally run a stock exhaust with a reemed out CAT. If I change anything in the immediate future it will be a 2g manifold, and maybe a larger downpipe.
 
the best exhuast hands down is thermal if you don't mind kinda loud.... souds nice and deep and offers the best in performance....if you don't wanna be as loud I would say go w/ the Apex i N1......
 
ummm... i don't know what thermal you people are hearing but my nad my friend both got thermal and a friend of ours has the n1 and we can't hear him at all over ours... ohh are you all running a cat or a test pipe?? that makes a big differnce

The best exhaust for a 2g IMO and mine was only 250 from the trader :p

They dont have any pics of the ATR Cat-Back for the 1g but they make it.

4 of the 5 DSM's from the shop i work at use ATR the other uses Buschur.
