Im putting in my new 60-1 and it doesnt need coolant. Also doing the 1g head swap. should i use a 1g nt water pipe with no nipples and just join the inlet and outlet of oil filter housing with hose? or should i use a 1g turbo pipe with only one nipple and rig something up so that it does get coolant?

Since the car came from the factory with the oil cooler, I'd prefer to keep it. You can use the turbo water pipe and just cap off the nipples that goes to the turbo. That way you can retain the use of the oil cooler.

Your going to want to do whatever work it takes to keep it. It helps keep your oil cooler as the car doens't have a REAL oil cooler on it. If you have an external oil cooler, you can forget those lines, if not, keep them.

yeah what he said... the only problem is that if you turn your filter on too tight you can crack that coolent housing and then you get coolant mixed with oil.. we all know that's not good. it's a consistant problem.

I strongly suggest a medium to large external oil cooler for better cooling and for more oil capacity. this is good for many reasons.. cooler oil = cooler engine and turbo = longevity of both. increased capacity also helps cool things down and allows for a margin of error.

Currently I'm running the B&M race tyranny cooler with -6AN stainless lines, a filter relocation using a FL1A filter (large Ford style filter, holds almost a quart on it's own)... my entire system is almost 6 quarts and it runs cooler more efficient than it ever. hoped this helped.
