sorry i need answers fast and i'll delete this.

I just bought a 1995 talon tsi awd and its an automatic.. its tranny was acting kinda funky, and i have a warranty that if i feel something is wrong with the engine/tranny/drivetrain, they'll replace it. What i'm wondering is, if they would even consider a swap to a stick if i pay them whatever extra it would cost? for labor, and some parts.

The reason i'm posting this, is i'm asking, is this even worth trying? i mean, i dont want to do something retarded... is it worth a shot asking?

It depends on the shop that would be doing this if it's an extended warrenty.

if it's an OEM warrenty, no way in hell they would do it.

*sigh*... ok.. dont hit me... i dont know what oem is.. *ducks*

I just bought the car from a dealer and it has 58 k miles, and i have a 3 month, 3000 warranty where if i feel anything isnt too great, they'll replace it.

oh, and i'm only 17, and i live in shitty weirton WV. I've been looking for a 2nd gen dsm since like 3 months before i turned 16. This is the only car I've EVER found. It only has 58k miles, and it was 6000, in perfect condition too. I know i wont find another like this for a LOOONG time to come.

If I were you I'd stick with the auto and have them strengthen it and put a high stall converter, shift kit, and (if you really wanna get crazy) a trans brake put into it....that way there's no missed shifts, it shifts way way faster than a 5speed and you can cut hella low 60' times (on good tires) :D
