Intake manifold non CA Smog?

I been hearin this for awhile that if you put on an aftermarket intake manifold like Venom or magnus that you won't smog in California, can anyone confirm this? :dsm:
 
Yes, that would be true. One reason is that you wouldn't have an EGR valve. so that automaticly makes you fail smog.
