i have a 1993 mitsubishi eclipse gs 2.0L DOHC fwd 5speed, and im looking to pick up a 1990 eclipse gst with a bad motor, he thinks there is a hole in a cylinder wall, for $400 in about 2 weeks or so, and i plan on doing a full engine rebuild this winter to drop the turbo into my car. but before i get started i need some advice:

first: the car comes with a good spare block, and all parts, he tore the engine apart looking for the problem. so i wll start with the internals, im not specific what kind yet, but for pistons, im looking for some forged aluminum pistons, somewheres around 8:1 or 7.5:1 compression, what kind of pistons, rods, and rings would you advice, or which ones have you had sucess with?

second: i am looking at also picking up a full engine rebuild kit off of the machv website. has anyone used this kit before and how did it work out?

now when it comes to valvetrain, i am looking to upgrade to more aggressive cams, probably hks 272, but not positive, any you suggest? i will be porting the head myself by hand, and either im going to port the intake manifold, or i will get a bigger one period, which would you suggest? i will also be getting a upgraded head gasket, and arp head studs.

i plan on running equal length tubular headers, with a full 3" turbo back exhaust, probably buschar racing.

now when it comes to the turbo, im either going to go 16g or 20g, which would you suggest? maybe a different one all together?

which kind of fmic would you suggest, like ones that are known not to cause overheating too much.

im definitaly picking up a lightened flywheel from fidanza, and an ACT 2100 or 2300 clutch, which would you suggest, or maybe a diferent one altogether?

how are the short shifters from fidanza? i bought this one off ebay, and it sucked, i can do circles with my shifter there is so much play.

suspension: i already have upper strut bars, and i should be getting a thicker sway bar for the front, however i will upgrade the suspension, but maybe not this winter, the funds maybe a little low, all this will cost a lot of money.

now for what i have planned for my car as far as what i posted, how do you think my car will be laid out, as far as like not enough supporting mods for a bigger turbo, or is it laid out good?

also, for guys that have done all this before, how many ponies you think i will be pushing? now i will be building this car more for the corners than for the straight line, but im still curious, what do you think my quater time will be?

thanks for any and all help guys

You should do your own research. The best part is not the best part on the market...it all depends on your goals and what your using the car for. With that being said use the search button. It will answer all of your questions.
