Got my last one from a hyundai sonata. A 1989 I think it was

You just threw it in? You diden't build it? What are those blocks rated for HP wise in stock form?

Also that kit is really cheap. A couple hundred less then SBR, but it doesn't offer 9:1 compression.

Carshopinc has the cheapest kit i know of, however there was this one dude on ebay selling complete kits for $999.00 for a while but dont see him arround anymore. Anyway if you look at carshopinc however that kit includes a used crank! If you want a new crank they throw litle over $500 on top of it adding it up to i believe arround $1700. If you do your research you can find the parts for the kit on various sites like i did and i payed abot $1400 including shipping and everything is brand spanking new

What about this kit. 2.3 new crank
That is a pretty good price too. Jackson Auto is a pretty good company and if you don't easily trust cheaper vendors than this kit would propably be the best way to go for you. It really depends on if you are willing to use a used crank or not. I didnt have a problem with it and from what i understand sbr for example keeps an close eye on their used cranks and makes sure tht you can still use them. I just needed the crank when they where out of used cranks and found that $600 for a brand new one wasn't bad at all.

Wow! Thats one of the first things I've seen from Jackson Auto Machine that isne't stupidly over priced. But why these guys insist on selling these kits with stupid compression ratio's is byond me. 9:1. Is that so hard? LOL.

Yes I rebuilt it I actually made a 2.3 stroker and a 2.1L long rod out of the parts. I simply listed an alternative, to buying a "stroker kit"

which vendor or where i can get the best 2.3 kit for money

The best place for the money is a junk yard. Find a 2.4 out of a sonata (4GCS) and have the block machined and the crank inspected by a realiable machine shop. Sell the rods in the 4gcs (same as 1g big rods) and your 2g pistons on ebay (a hot selling combo). Buy aftermarket pistons and rods and have fun.
