i need to purchase a slim line fan fo the driver's side. with my evo3 j-pipe the two almost rub. i need something to be efficient, wire easily, and mount almost like stock, whish is the best, and the best place to get em

The easiest to install are these. They are a more expensive but they are supposed to bolt right up and the wires should hook up. They do offer a universal style fan which you will have to do little more work mounting and wiring. The universal fans are about $200.00 compared to the $400+ for the model specific unit. I'm not sure where the cheapest place to buy them is.

How close is you jpipe to the factory fan? I was able to get away with just removing abit of material off the center on the stock fan in a half circle shape with a dremel. My j-pipe was about 1/4" at the closest point before I removed any material. Now I have about 1/2" of clearance :thumb: .

These are the universal fans that I bought. I don't remember where I bought them from but I do remember that I paid $185 for them. They also came with an adjustable thermostat and air conditioning relay, as well as a manual override switch to shut down the fan. I'm not sure on the install yet because they are still sitting in the garage.

that seems alot high then i had expected. im saying this just becuase i have been to a couple of vendors webistes and seem them usually below 100? are they garbage or not easy to bolt in? i appreciate all the reponses just kinda surprised.

I had bought the ones from slowboy and after installing them my car would overheat.
I replaced those with these F-A-L fans and it fixed the overheating. My fans have the seperate control box also. You can buy the universal ones that do not have the controller for like 100 bux cheaper I think. I like these fans though, they look real nice in the bay too.

If you are looking for a single fan then yes you can get good fans for under $100. I bought the dual fan unit because my A/C fan melted along time ago and my other fan wouldn't fit with the 50 trim.

You get what you pay for! I went with the FAl setup and paid around 375 I love them!
