hey i was wondering if there is an easy way to dyno tune a 1g awd when there is only a front or rear wheel drive dyno arround here.
I have considered swaping transmissions to the front wheel drive but this sounds like a pain in the ass for only a few hours of use.

Anyone have any input?

thanks

Disconnected rear drive shaft, then your car is only FWD. Its a lot easier and quicker than swaping in a new tranny. Or spend the gas to drive to an AWD Dyno.

yea you can drop the rear drive shaft and kiss that really expensive viscous goodbye. go ahead and do it. you'll get your dyno tuning done but you will be stuck FWD with an extra 300 lbs of wieght if you do that. the only true to way to dyno tune a awd is to get a VC eliminator and welded c-diff. TRE sells a spool kit for 225. comes with a c-diff locker and a vc elim so u dont destroy it while dyno tuning in FWD mode. Then again i'd make the effort to go to a awd dyno. less hassle worth the drive and you know what your putting down to ALL 4 WHEELS. not just the front 2.
