I have been searching the classifieds and ebay for a cheap or used intake pipe, but came up empty, cheapest one is 45 and he doesnt have very good feedback, then i have to buy a coupler for my turbo and a new air filter. and then im up to like 80-100 dollars dependent on air filter.

The local speed shop can make me an 3" intake pipe, for around 20 bucks maybe less if i go to a muffler shop, but noone around here can make mandrel bends. how much better would a mandrel bent pipe be over the pressbent one. i dont need any nipples or the BOV return, i have GM mas in blow-thru(gotta love the PSSSHHHHT) and i have a evo3 16g turbo. i know it will be better than the stock pipe, and my goal with the car is to get into the 13's(im FWD so it will take more work).

Thanks

and i dont want any pvc pipe for an intake, so dont suggest that

If you do press bent you will get an ugly dip where they bent it, and you will lose a considerable amount of diameter throughout the radius of the bend. I'm not sure how much this would affect air flow. You can buy 90 and 45 degree mandrel bent tubes and custom weld it but just the mandrel bent 90s and 45s are expensive. I didn't have a welder so I gave up and bought a Dejon intake tube for $105. About the only way to make a good flowing, budget priced, and decent looking intake tube is to do your own welding.

your best bet is to just get a U bend from somwhere like summit, jegs, JC Whittney, or the like and cut and weld.

:thumb: That's what I did w/ my IC pipes and Down pipe, you get mandrel bends and exactly what you need for about 1/2 the price. I recommend Summitracing.com they always have super fast shipping. You just have to get them welded. (It's nice to know someone) :thumb:

Shoot, your in blow through. That makes it way simpler.

Go on eBay and search for a cold air intake for a 90'-93' Honda Accord. I picked up mine for about $40 shipped with the filter.

Then follow these directions and make 3 cuts, and you've got yourself a perfect 3'' chrome intake pipe.

Once you get a FMIC, you can use the extra L pipe left over to put your air filter where your stock sidemount was. Works perfect for me.
