Ok I have a 96 GSX and I just got a 91 TSI Talon for real cheap at an auction and I'm planning in swapping engines. I know all of the parts that is needed to put the 1G engine into my 2G but I was wondering what would be needed to put my 2G engine into the 1G. I want to do this so I can use the talon as a winter car. Is it possible that all of the parts need from the Talon(1G) to put the engine in the GSX(2G) would be the same as all the parts needed from the GSX(2G) to put the engine into the Talon(1G). Thanks for all the help and I hope that you are able to understand what I'm trying to say.

What's wrong with the 1g?

I don't think you can put a 7-bolt into a 6-bolt car. I remember someone saying that 6-bolts can go both ways, but not 7-bolt engines.

The talon has some body damage, it was rear ended into antoher vehicle. So it needs new bumpers, hood, lights, front and rear quater pannels. If anyone else has heard that if you can or can't put a 7 bolt engine into a 1G please let me know.

well considering everything from a 1g can be swapped into a 2g.. im sure there is a way to swap a 2g into a 1g. I just dont know the details, it would have something to do with the Cam Angle Sensor or lack of CAS I should say. Best bet is to contact Magnus Motorsports or RRE and ask them.

You definitely can NOT put a 2g motor in a 1g. 1G has the rear motor mount on the back of the block, 2G puts it on the tranny. So when putting the 2g block in the 1g car there is no boss to attach the rear motor mount to ;) Not sure why they changed that, but like everything else mitsu did, it makes life interesting :D
