Will the 1g's intake manifold be better on the 2g. What is needed to use the 1g's intake manifold on a 2g.

you would have to have the intake ports on the 2nd gen head, enlarged to match the 1g manifold ports. if you dont it might suck:laugh:

its not worth the money or time, the 2g will work just fine, if u really want a different manifold, get a after market one, otherwise yer jsut wastein money.:dsm:

how do you figure its not worth the $$ or time.. swapping a 1st gen TB and IM onto a 2g should make a nice improvement of top end power. Ofcourse its not the first thing you should do but its definitely a good idea later down the road. Ofcourse you also do you have to port match the head to the IM though.

it would be a waste of resources to swap the intake manifold if you keep the stock 2g head, as, like Larry pointed out, the ports on the 1G intake are so much bigger than the 2g head intake ports. The intake ports would block off alot of the flow, and being that they are 90deg to the flow of the air, it will probably flow less than the 2g intake/2g head combo. BUT, if you get a 1g head and a 1g intake manifold, you are well on your way :)

Well i dont think it would be, add up parts labor, that goin to be about as much as a nice sheet metal intake or something like that. Plus the 2g stuff works fine there plenty of people runnin hella power on them. Everyones got there own opnion on everything, personaly ill stick with my 2g setup over a 1g any day.:dsm:

Snipe, take it if it is free!! Just keep it for when you put a 6bolt engine in your car. Or sell it cheap, and help yourself by making a few bucks, and helping one of the community by letting someone who wants it have it for cheap :)

its win-win baybe
