Went to the dealer and drove around what would've been my clean red GSX. After almost getting a speeding ticket and running into the curb (i've never driven an AWD car before. god damn it grips) we arrived back at the dealer. I filled out the credit report and and said I want to trade in my 01 GT

They said ok and had the appriser come out for a look. He said there was front end collision damage. I was outraged. This was the car I bought from a used dealer as a "no accident clean title car". and yes the title was clean. The appraiser put it on the lift and found some moderate frame damage to the uniframe eclipse body. he said no way are we going to take that. and so i left empty handed.

yeah, they may or may not have known. its always a good idea to go over a car really well before you buy it, but for all we know maybe it was'nt crashed, perhaps that appraiser wants the GSX.

They probably had a lot 3G's and didn't want another one :D

Bro, these @$$holes screw everybody. I didn't find out till after. They buy auctioned cars, fix them up a bit, and sell them as "clean title no accident" cars. I'm one of many to be hit and I already have a small claims judgement for $3,800 against them for a few things, but they don't care.

someone needs to throw a handgrenade in the middle of their car lot ;)

that's just the thing: I don't have the time

the wait to get into municiple court is like 2 years. It's that packed here. By then, my car would be paid off and I would be chasing my own @$$ for months. Someone called me and offered to buy my car so i figure that's the best way out. paw it off. they buy it and i collect on my little $3,800 judgement.

In CO the dealer does not have to tell you if a used car is wrecked, only new cars and if over $1000? they do have to tell you if it has a bad(salvage,flood...) title. And most reputable dealers will not retail a bad car. If the car was wrecked, as long it was fixed right it shouldn't matter to anyone(unless it was wrecked really bad and has Dimenished Value).

The main crossmember under the radiator is bent, there's frame damage and in the right light, the front fascia doesn't match

the rest was fine, they were looking for a sucker and they found me

Like someone already said, why the hell didn't you look over the car before you bought it? And, not everything bought at auction is a POS.

Oh yeah, and "frame damage MUST be disclosed at an auction" is what they told me at the Mitsu dealer when i was looking at my GSX

so they knew

true. A/T + AWD is kinda pointless (or at least with the shitty stock torque converter)

I test drove it and it felt SO SLOW compared to my torquey 5spd 6G72
