i know, i know i searched and everything before but i ordered a walbro 190L and i know i dont need a fpr for it but , take a big crap on that idea the company sent me a 255L  . now since i have a the 2nd annual dsm meet/drag/ bbq/ after party here on saturday im just wondering how much is it going to effect my times and performance if i dont have a fpr and install the fuel pump. my thought was to install it but then i was thinking aint i gonna be running hella rich with just the fuel pump? would it make any difference if i dont do the rewire when i do the fp install i.e not flow as much into the fuel rail thus not getting full performance from the fuel pump since i wont be running the 12-13volts id only be runnin the 9 to the pump. or should i just hold off on it and just rock my car the way it sits.

2g ex. manifold
2.5" o2 elimator dp (external dump)
no exhaust
mbc which will be set at 15 psi (unless other is suggested)
k&n filter with dejon tool intake pipe
possibly if i have a chance to put on my egr blockoff plate.

on my last car i ran the 255 with out an fpr for an entire summer with no problem's....i know that is just my case but if you plan on getting an fpr in the near future your going to be just fine....unless you are very nervouss abou things breaking but then if you were i don't think you would have bought a DSM.... :p

Hey that's a $10 savings for you and you have a fuel pump that you should never outgrow. I mean guys are putting down 450 to the wheels with that pump and still have room. Just run a little rich down low for a while :)

what about part 2 of my question. well should i do the rewire on the fuel pump while im at it then or wait till i get the fpr?

ryan

When I installed a 255 pump w/o the rewire mod and w/o an AFPR, my fuel pressure was 20 psi too high. Your car will start, run, and drive with a 255 pump w/o the ARPR, but there will be a notciable negative affect on performance due to running pig rich. IMO, you are better off running the stock pump until you get a regulator.
