Hey, I was wondering if anyone can tell me the differences that I am gonna see between a T28 killer vs the 16g turbo. Which one would be the better buy?. The stock T-25 is just not cutting it.:dsm:

16g=:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

The killer is a bit more. Why dont yu consider getting a Big28 from FP or AGP... they are great proven turbo's with great spoolu and the same 16g top end, with bolt up capability...

well, the T28 "killer" is a hybrid that uses a big 16g wheel correct? So they should be identical other than the T28 killer is a direct bolt up for 2g. And the 16 requires a $300 install kit for 2g....so I would say get the T28killer.

well to be honests with you i have the 28 and i love it it spools fast it looks almost stock and i have had no problems.

Well I just recommended the Big28 cause Ive heard lots of negative feedback from "killer" turbos. I understand they have had reliability issues and stuff... My friend has a 16g killer on his 97gst and it pulls good. But the turbo broke on him after like 7k miles and the manufacturer said "sorry"...

Yeah....I have also heard complaints about Turbochargers.com which is who makes the BigT28 Killer Hybrid.
AGPT28 for me. Havent heard any complaints about them.

Well.. not sure where is a good place to ask ...
What kinds of complaints are out there ?

Found the topic im lookin for. Im getting ready to upgrade and was considering the big t28 or the t28killer. Has anyone out there put one of these on thier car? What kind of 1/4 times have, those who have one , gotten with either of these turbos? I have a decent amount of supporting mods and can consistly pull 14.1 @95 all day with my t25 stocker. I am assuming that with the t28 killer i can pull a 13.0 to a 13.2. Some feed back back would be great. thanx peoples. Billy

Ten minutes huh very strange, how long does it take for you to get in the morning? p.s. what is your address so I can mail you a knife, hahahahahaha. :thumb: :dsm:

i dont know if my 2 cents are worth anything but i have the 16g and it pulls really hard and i dont have alot of mods. I got it with out a core and for a pretty good price before you go buying a turbo look at www.turbotrix.com after i ordered my turbo i recieved it in 3-5 days and they are very helpful they have good prices also. good luck

i researched all three turbos and i desided from the prices of all of them that im ordering the best first im getting the hks gt25 for my 2g its a t3/t28 and comes in the hks housing which we all know is bult for optimal flow and horse power yeah its more money but the kit comes with new stainless lines, gaskets, and hardware and o2 housing plus i have my own business so i can get it wholesale anyway thats what my research led to. and the fact that i am a die hard hks fan. so if anybody needs anything email me at [email protected] and check out our website eiaracing.com there will also be a email link there for the site.:dsm: :D :dsm:

Turbochargers warranty sucks. They will pretty much blame you for any problems you have.

Other than that they are cool. As long as you dont have probs you should be fine.

I would recommend the big 16g. it is true that the t28 spools as quickly as the stock t25 but the 16g has a lot more potential and can push out more hp than its smaller counterpart. Whenever there is a bigger turbo, more lag will follow; however, the 16G does not take forever to kick in. it just depends on your mods.

the 16g is obviously a good drag turbo if you are looking in that direction. they can put out incredible #s. just go look at dsmtimes.org and see how many people are running with those turbos and putting up high 11s n low 12s.

to me, the t28 isn't worth it since the turbo uses the same core as the 25. the exhaust housing is small and the compressor housing is basically small as well. you won't get the max performance you're looking for.

it is true that the t28 is a bolt on for the 2g cars. but don't just walk around the 16g cuz it will take more than an hour to install. u don't really need an installation kit for the install. you just need a 1g oil return line, J pipe and ss oil feed line. other than that, u can reuse the water pipes and crush rings.

just remember the supporting mods (ie: pump, injectors, boost controller, gauges, etc) i recommend getting an egt and boost gauge if you haven't done so.

i don't have the 16g turbo on my car yet. right now my car is all smashed up n really messed up. but once she's out of the shop, that turbo will soon be in place.

hope this help a little.

This thread is comparing the T-28 KILLER (which is NOT a T-28) to the big 16G. It has nothing to do with the T-28's out there. The Killer uses a big 16G wheel in a AiResearch Garrett compressor housing. It spools almost as fast as any of the T-28. 20psi about 2,800 - 3,000 rpm. Its direct bolt on as well. So please people... stop confusing the T-28 Killer with all the other big28 variants out there.

I just looked at your car and i saw that it is a GS-T and not a GSX. I also have a GS-T spyder and I have had the BigT28 and now i have the 16G. People will tell you to get the T28 because it spools fast, well i found that with the 16G my cars performance is much better because the BigT28 spooled too fast and my tires would always just start spinning. With the 16G however, it is much much better because of the short difference in spool up time. The difference is really pretty minimal, and the gain in performance i got was well worth it. Plus i had a guy like you trade me a 16G w/install kit + $200 for my BigT28 just because he wanted the easy install.

Just my $.02

TurboSpyder stole my responce. I'm FWD too, and pretty much all FWD guys know that faster spool up isn't really always a good thing for us. I gotta big16g, and it still spools up fast enough to break my tires at the end of 1st, so since the t28 killer supposidly spools up quicker, i don't think i'd recommend that for FWD. And if your racing, any other gear u shift into your gunna be above 4k RPM's so its gunna spool almost instantly in every gear but 1st, which is the one gear we don't need quick spool. So I'd say 16g.. good luck
