I just installed a new Crank Pully, and Trying to setup my Base Timing. But the Timing Mark is no were to be seen. I try turning the Crank Angle Sensor Slowly both ways all the way. Is there a certain way to put the Crank Pully in? Meanin the Timing Mark at a certain location?

jumping on board for this also.

I will be replacing my crank pulley tomorrow, but as far as I know, you don't need to adjust timing or have the crank pulley in any sort of way. The harmonic balancer is there to spin your accessory belts

I figured it out... The Crank Pully DOESN'T go on any sort of way... There is a Dowel Pin on the Crack Sprocket and the Crank Pully has a Hole for that besides the 4 holes for the bolts. So you can't put it on wrong... UNLESS you were like me and was missing that Dowel Pin.. Then yes it will go on sort of way...
No I didn't touch my timing belt... I just loosen my Alt and took loosen the 4 bolts to take it off.. Well I did more then that but If you are just replacing the Crank Pully then thats all you need to do... Beside Jacking up the car, remove the driver side wheel, and remove the Splash guard Cover... then loosen the alt belt to beable to remove the Crank Pully... Once I got it back on right Adjusting Timing was Easy cuz the Tick Mark was where ti suppose to be... :D

Hope that helps

If you are trying to set your timing using a timing light and CAS, you also need to hook up a jumper wire to the plug behind your battery on the firewall to the plug on the throttle body. Then you will see your timing mark when the engine is running.

There are two little notches on the crank pulley. Just take a white paint pen and mark it.

Yes that does help, Even though I installed a Brand New Crank Pully I used white out and mark an extra tick mark on the pully.

Or, take off your timing cover, line up the crank and everything else, put it in time with all the appropriate marks then install the crank pulley.

I know you may not want to hear this but buy a hanes or chilton shop manual. I bought one and couldn't have been happier. They help a TON.

agreed. but sometimes I'm way too lazy to flp through the book, so I just go on here and hit "search" :D

anyway, just an update. I took my 2 pieces of my old 7 bolt crank pulley off today and swapped it out with a new one from DSMotorsport. All you have to do is put it on and line up the dowel with the hole in the pulley. CAKE!

up and running within a half an hour :thumb:
