well I'm finally devirginaizing my car after about a 4 months of owning it Ive just been reading and fixing known problems. heres my question.

i just installed my ported 2g ex. manifold and custom 2.5" o2 eliminator DP and i am experiencing some problems. i think i might know my problem but I'm going to ask the question any how. what would cause the smoke, steam or possible burn off on my exhaust manifold? nothing from the head to the manifold or o2 housing to the turbo (from what i can see). i think i may have a bad manifold-turbo gasket but not positive. can anyone confirm or deny this or what else could it be? if it is the gasket is it necessary to get a new triple crush gasket from mitsu or can i get away with just making a new one?

More thank likelly a bad manifold to turbo gasket allowing exhaust gasses to escape which is the steam/smoke you see. Or it may not be tightened down. Take the turbo off and check the gasket, bet it's bad.

well i fixed the problem. i just diddnt tighten the bolts down all the way. on another note can anyone point me in the direction of where to check up torque specs? oh yeah and my new setup ####ing rocks!

You also got to remember that with new ex. manifolds as with all new cars they burn off a coat of sealant I believe. Cause when I put on my new evoIII mani and let it warm up checking for leaks you would see smoke coming off the acutual mani and it definately didn't smell like no exhaust smoke. A good place to find all that info is in a chiltons or haynes manual which are considerably cheaper than if you where to get the one from Satan (your local Mitsu dealer).
