spearco custom ic

i am thinking about a new idea for my fmic cause i am sick of waiting. this idea invovles getting a spearco fmic for my 2g. i was thinking mostly about the 2-216 (same as indy race core) some tell me the one for the street core though. i think i just want the bigger one though. the piping will be custom short piping by and expirenced guy that knows what he is doing. what are your thoughts about doing this 2-216 core? its only like 670 with entanks i think, its for a 2g btw. thanks

its been done. there is a 2g IRC Race core kit that uses a spearco 2-216 kit. supossedly IRC prices are going to drop. but if you want to pick up the FMIC and do it yourself go ahead. thats what i do. get the FMIC from
www.automotosports.com the Spearco 2-216 assembly is 668 bux. piping will be another 100. have a nice day

i know the irc does the kit and its a great kit, but i think i can custom do the pipes for just as good for 300 less than what irc charges. i was looking at ams for it, i think that is my best bet for the core

i think esc is going to do the piping for me, don is looking into it for me

Jon doesn't do mandrel bending at ESC does that matter to you?

you can buy mandrel bends and then cut them to make the bends you need aka pie cut. but how much would that be??

all the mandrel bends would only cost me like 40 bucks from rre, one of my friends did his custom spearco this way. i know all the pipes i pretty much need

40 bux for pipes and about 650 for the core and unkown amount on labor..you sure it will be cheaper? you are looking at over $800 prolly. you could wait for IRC to drop their prices otr just get a greddy type 24.

Mind sharin what bends you would need? Right now I'm looking at 2 90 degree bends, 2 180 degree bends, and 2 45 degree bends. Sound about right?

I had Spearco make a custom intercooler for my car. It is sort of like the 2-216 just not as tall. It's 28 x 8 x 3.5 instead of being 28 x 10 x 3.5. Just didn't want to deal with the extra height and don't need it to be that big for a 50trim on pump..

My IC is made the same way.

A spearco 24x12x3.5 core and custom 2.5inch short-routed piping.

My piping going to be shorter then yours... yeah I got the IndyRaceCore which uses the 2-216 spearco core..and getting some custom piping made woo hoo...
