Hey dsmers, i'm not sure this is the right forum but whatever. I need a turboback exhaust for my 98 gst asap! I'm looking at n1, thermal, or hks. I've heard n1 and hks, but thermal i'm in the dark about how it sounds. As with every dsm owner, money is an issue, i'm on a budget. I'm looking for the best prices for these exhausts (new or used). Any feedback is greatly appreciated. thanx guys, keep boosting!

My suggestion would be find a local shop that does mandrel bending, buy the muffler of your choice and have the shop weld it all together. 2.5" seems to work the best for the street. But what ever way you go. Remember, A pipe is a pipe is a pipe! If you get the mandrel bends and a good mufler then you have yourself a custom exhaust and may even save a little mony in the procces. Plus the shop will do all the work and warantee it. Can't go wrong! :rocks: :dsm:

I have a thermal myself and love both the looks and the sound.

I could have went the cheaper route with a "custom" exhaust but I chose the stainless thermal. It STILL looks nice after 4 years of being on the car. The only thing I did not like is after I decided to go to a 3" DP, I had to cut the neck down off the thermal and weld on a 3" piece to match the DP.

But if you do go the custom route, remember to use mandle bends and I would highly suggest stainless if you don't want the RUST effect.

Yes I agree! Go with the stainless. This is the second custom exhaust I have had. The first one was not stainless, and it fell apart after 2 years! This time I sprang for the extra cash and went stainless steel. By the way Eclipse4x4, where did you get those tail lenses at, and are they DOT approved? :dsm:
