Well I Just Broke my Oil Filter Housing, and while taking that out, Notice my Driver Side Motor Mount torn in half all the way through... Ive been fighting Phantom Knock... Which only occurs when going up inclines... like hills... Could this be a cause of that? I mean when my engine starts seeing load... but I'm thinking of replaceing it with stiff motor mounts.. Are they really that bad? I mean as in shaking and vibration?

i think these mounts are bad ass man. the shaking isnt too bad really. i actually tend to like it ROFL. it gives your car a diffrent sound and you can really feel the torque increase from your motor not moving. also it made shifting a little easier because the transmission doesnt move. as far as the shaking of the dash and stuff, its pretty bad at idle but when your driving it all goes away. i think of it as one of thoes mods that make your dsm one step meaner

Nice! I hope install goes well :D

Well I installed my stiffer motor mounts... Only Driver and Tranny Side. I wanted to see how much different my car would be. When I started the car, I had my hand on the steerig wheel. And Now I know what you mean by vibration. The car felt like someone was taken a jack hammer and put it against the car! From the driver side, i can her the vibration through out the car... I know my g/f is going to hate it!... but I took the car out for a spin...driving wasn't too bad... but the stiffer motor mounts, seem to make the exhaust sound different... more deeper and meaner! Kinda nice. Not sure if I feel a difference as in torque.. at idle, pretty much my dash shakes. I think I have to tighten some bolts! But Do you guys thing its ok to just have the driver and tranny with stiffer motor mounts? Not sure if I want to change the front and rear... Car shakes pretty good already... afraid it might get worse with the front and rear...

The way you have it set-up right now, you are getting all the bad side effects and none of the good. Most people put the stiffer mounts in just the front and rear mount as these are the ones that resist engine movement the most. I understand that your driver's side was the one that was torn, but you need to do them all to see the benefits, or just the front and rear.

I see, I guess I'll do all 4 then... Have to wait to next week... though....

Well I replaced all 4, so far the Front was the worst to get back in, and the rear was the worse to take out and put back in... Haha, but Car still shakes like crazy, My HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer on my Steering Column rattles when I drive... And my dash does alittle... Not sure how I'm going to fix it... But Haven't seen the torque benifits yet...

The vibration is not whats bother me, its the gauges, and interior rattling is what bothers me :D. But I almost gave up on the rear, but lucky since it was such a PITA to remove the bolts. But lucky I did get it out, because it was torn... So I had the Driver Side, and Rear with Torn mounts... And I was getting Phantom Knock... I wonder if I put my KeyDiver Chip in without the Phantom Knock Elminator Code, if I would still get knock.... I'm going to drive it acouple days, see how long I can stand it... haha

Tom i can always help you tune that sucka up! The car rattled quite a lot but for some reason i like the way it is.. a lot more rigid. Unlike mine, shakes and hit the shits in the bay. I will do mine soon after I get the dsmlink. BTW, don't forget to upload your car pix and enter the contest, I'm pretty sure u will win this month. :thumb:
