I bought the saf-c 2 for several reasons with one of the main reasons was to eleminate the "blow back" due to a larger front mount. To my disappointment according to the installation book and the wiring diagram i'm unable to use the feature. The wiring diagram given in the manual for my car is Karmin setup but in order to read the intake pressure in need the hot wire/flap diagram. Is there another route that I can take to make it work with the saf-c or any other way to keep my car from trying to stall out after boost? It only happens when i'm in boost and then hit the clutch. Another question that I will add to this is that my car starts running really rich at about 12lbs of boost. I never had this problem until I ran 110 fuel through my car. I have since ran 3 tanks of 93 gas and I still have this problem. It seems that my car will stutter after the 12psi. I'm not sure if I should try to lean it out using the saf-c or not. I've ran 110 before and never had a problem like this before. If you have any ideas just let me know.

Are you using a blow thru set-up? If not, are you venting the BOV to the atmosphere? Make sure to check for any boost/vaccum leaks before you do anything. My guess is you popped off a vaccum hose or you have a leak in the intercooler system.

You can do the MAP sensor mod but it will not help with the stalling.

I'm venting the BOV to atmosphere. I've checked for leaks and couldn't locate one. I'll check again since that seems to be an ongoing problem with my car. I've had problems with boost leak since I installed the FMIC on my car. Do you know if I can use the DEC Air on the SAF-C?

umustbconfused, Im glad you touched on this area. I too am having this problem, both under boost or just cruising in 4th or 5th gear. As soon as i let the clutch in (without catching the next gear)....it stalls. I am running a crushed 1st gen BOV that is vented and I thought i could correct the probelm by usung that SAFC feature.WRONG.

The only way you are going to fix the stalling issue is to put the recirc tube back on. What is better - a cool psshhttt noise or your car running properly?

Dont vent. Plain and simple, im only saying from experience, i had a turbo XS RFL BOV vented and i stalled quite a bit. im now running my re circed OEM BOV and get A LOT better gas mileage and can still hear a sound, the cool sound in the end isnt worht it on your wallet, or your car.

Dec-Air function on the SAFC-II does not work with dsm's. Like everyone has mentioned. Either go with a gm maf and maf-t, or dont vent. Those are you choices :)

Like everyone else says, if you wanna vent, do it right. Get a Maft or a Pro-M kit w/blow thru, and maybe even a BOV that is meant to be dumped into the atomesphere.

I am running a turbo XS type H (dumped) w/o the GM maft (soon to come though) and the only time I experience idle/stalling problems is when I turn the AC on(no clue why, likely due to venting, and dont have the time to figure out why, so I'll throw more money at it and hope). I dumped a Greddy type S years ago and it was nothing but problems, always stalled, blitz was a bit better, but nothing close to tolerable. IMO, it helps when your dumping to use a BOV that is made to be dumped, not one made to do both. And the only way to do it right is with a GM w/blow through, although my car typically behaves very well w/o one, on these boards-I'm a rare case seeing as how I get flamed every time I share my personal experiences with venting.

I ran my Type-S vented when I first got my car because, hell I didn't know any better. I never experienced any stalling issues, I did see a lot of lag when shifting and hitting the gas, and also to get the car started in 1st it took me giving it more gas to get going. I read up on it a little and then decided to recirc and those minor issues I had were gone. Put the recirc Tube on it and I bet it doesn't do it unless you have a serious leak.

I would go with the Pro-M. That is what I'm running on my car if you get the kit you also get the Maf-tuner with it so you can tune your car with it :thumb:
Load based tuning rocks also.
