I just finished installing my fuel system, Walbro 255hp, fic 750 cc & aeromotive fpr with push lock fitting install kit. Now I checked all the fittings etc. & can't see any leaks or any traces of fuel but when I smell around the area of the fpr I can smell some gas fumes. Do the aerotomive fprs have a small vent or something? I thought there shouldn't be any fuel smell at all but I have no idea where it is coming from. I thought maybe is was just from the fuel that was spilt when I installed all the parts but I think it should have evaporated/wouldn't smell by now. Any suggestions?

Smelling fuel would bother me to the point where I would yank the injectors and AFPR and reinstall them, paying close attention to making sure every fitting is tight, and the orings on the injectors are all present and accounted for, and in good condition.

Check around the injectors for leaks. You may have a bad O-ring on one of them. I had this problem, and found a little puddle of fuel on my intake manifold.

I have checked and everything is tight, sickgsx-316, your right is does bother me. The problem is the leak is so small that its not wet anywhere that I can physically see the leak. The injectors are FIC so thay have the different seals on them & they always look dry, it doesnt seem to smell from that area either. I'm starting to think it may be the adapter that fits on the end of the fuel rail as I think the smell is strongest there, but its really hard to tell, since my fpr is also mounted in that area & all the hoses/connections are in the smae area. I oiled the oring on the fitting when I installed it and twisted it side to side & checked to make sure you could twist it freely once it was installed and it seemed fine. I have a 45 min drive home so I'll check it when I get home & hopefully I can see something this time, otherwise I guess Im just going to have to start over again  .

Does anyone know if the make the ultraviolet leak detector for fuel? I think they only make it for oil & anitfreeze but if they had it for fuel that would really help.
