Alright just installed a walbro 255. Now cranking it to start it....i have blown 2 ignition fuses so far....I don't quite understand this....is the fuel pump on the same circuit as teh 30A ignition fuse?

Check for any chafed, or exposed wires. A short in the wiring will lead to blown fuses.

Ive had this happen before. My buddy broke one of the leads in the fuel pump housing so will drilled through and connect the power and ground outside the housing. One of the wires got cut so bare metal was touching where it came through. Every time i cranked the car i blew the fuse. You might wanna check that out.

yeah i guess i screwed up teh wiring i dunno

i hooked the power straight up to the hot screw

and stripped the screw for the ground - so i soldered the walbro harness to the stock ground wire

seems like if theres a short in there i would be blown up by now right :|

i just got back with more fuses so we'll see

black90 - are you saying you drilled through the top of the sending unit and ground to the chassis of the car or what?

i just checked the resistance across the stock pump and walbro

stock pump = 6.2 ohms
walbro = 25.0 ohms

does this mean this brand new pump is junk?

No i didnt ground it to the car. On the outside of the housing there are 2 wires that go itno to top and come out inside the tank where the screw you stripped is. 1 for power 1 for ground. I just connected the 2 wires together outside the tank. As for your voltage i couldnt tell ya.

nm i dunno what the #*!! it was but i pulled it apart fiddle around....rewired, soldered, jumped my car (voltage was getting low)

and she runs....

thanks anyhow...seems like i always post and figure it out myself anyhow
