I'm looking at getting the pocketlogger and a cheap palm, what all is involved in hooking one of these things up?

maybe i am confused here, but i thought the pocketlogger actually hooked up to your car somehow to take readings from your ecu or something? what do all of the cables hook up to?

The pcoketlogger hoos up to your diagnostic port witht he supplied cable from pocketlogger...the hot sync cable goes from the palm to your pc, for viewing logs after

can you view the information immediately on the palm too, or can you not see it until you sync it to the computer? What all info does the logger tell you?

Yeah, you can watch the data as it comes in, in graph form, though it's hard to do while you're driving.

The most useful things it lists probably are: Timing, Knock, rpm, tps, and other goodies.

Hooking it up is a breeze, it just plugs into the diagnostic port down by your left foot, and then you tuck the cable somewhere so you don't snag it, and mount the Palm where it won't go flying around.

i see the list on the site of POSSIBLE things that it can log, but do all of these work for the OBDII eclipse? The vehicle speed function would be interesting to record top speed runs

Q: What can I log with the OBDII version?

for those that have palms- how did you mount them. i am getting one and do not want to have it sitting in the seat. i have seen mounts for $40, any cheaper ideas?

i just tucked the hot sync cable under the seat and then to the passenger seat so when i'm ready, i pull it out and press go. the only problem is when u put it on the passenger seat it flies everywhere ( don't even think about the dash though). then when ur done u pull over an press stop then take it home and try to tell wut u need to work on. do the pull in 3rd or 4th gear though. people don't wanna know about the 1st/2nd gear runs cuz i guess they results move around alot????? just my 02 on it
