What would it take to get me into the 13's?

..,
Hello there, Newbie here.

I'm looking to buy a 1st Gen Talon Tsi AWD.

I'd like to get it into the 13's, that's it. (for now)

I don't have a HUGE wallet or Parents who do, so money saving ideas would be appreciated. Thanks a lot for the help.

That sounds good enough for me. Now after I get into the 13's, I'd like to try and make it as RELIABLE as possible. I cannot afford to have anything major break. I'll do all the basic Maint. before I start any modding, but is there anything else I can do to help out?

Also, I've seen a few pics of the S-AFC install in the heater. I like that a lot, where can I get that?

go on to CLUBDSM.COM and and look up MAF. (mass air flow sensor) you can hack the crap out of those things and if you do it according to the directions it will be faster in the quarter mile. also get ride of that air can after you get the k&n filter.

drop the exhaust right before the cat, take the back bumper off, take the passenger seat out, take the honeycombs out of the mas, take the aircan off, yank the hose off the wastegate and go for it.

Upgrade your clutch before you start to mod.

A stout clutch seems to be a mod that people often omit.

My stock clutch wouldn't put any power to the ground, and never ran better than high 14's. The following year after installing an ACT 2600 (and a DP) it was high 13's on the first pass!

Want 13s?

We ran 13s with a testpipe, boost controller, and K&N.

13.9@98 I believe was the ET.

Very reliable. Stock clutch went out after that though :)

Good luck!

testpipe, boost controller and gauge, and K&N yeilded me a [email protected] and [email protected] on a '93 awd, 7/8 tank of gas, full weight, minus rear seat..bald tires, slipping clutch, and 95 degrees out.
want 13's? learn to drive the piss out of it :).

My 92
runs a 13.61 @ 100 Mph (backed up) with 2.5in DP, Test Pipe, BR cat back, K&N and unpluged BCS w/ Race Gas. 700 bux

My 98
Runs, 14.1 @ 96Mph (after I fixed FPR) w/ 2.5 in DP, HF cat, BR cat back, K&N, BR UICP, Walbro 255lph, Hallman @15 psi and a 14b (2G's require ALOT of work!!!!! )
