Well I tried searching and couldn't fins anything quite like the problems I'm having. I installed one of those homemade mbc that i found and it didn't seem to hold boost very well (at the time I figured it was just an old busted mbc). regardless of how much I turned the knob, it would randomly boost anywhere from 10psi to 20+ (when the bov opened so my guess is it just kept going) usally though 10psi. So I went out and got a joe p mbc, put it in and still getting the same problem :( The only possibility I could come up with is a boost leak that leaks sometimes, kinda like a cut on a hose that flaps open sometimes? I think I'm going to build a boost leak tester today I check, but that still doesn't seem to likely to me.....what do you guys think?

Have you tested the operation of you waste gate? Maybe the arm is loose.

ok so I figured it out...apperently witht the joe p it matters which hose you plug into which end. Unfortuently mine didn't come with any instructions (grr fp......hehe still my favorite shop) but it now holds boost. On another note I definitly have a boost leak somewhere (still haven't tested, gotta go to hardware store tommorow) because I'm not getting full boost until 5k (on a T28)!!! At least it's an easy fix
